We are behavior problem solving specialists. If you have any type of problem with your young or adult dog, help is just a phone call away. We offer in-house training, or the dog can be trained at our own facility, or while being boarded. We train and board all breeds of dog, big and small.

Basic Information on dogs of differing ages

Puppies 8 weeks to 6 months

When a puppy comes home for the first time, it is a whole new world for it; this causes a lot of stress in the beginning. It's a good idea to call a trainer in as soon as possible. The young dog has to learn what good habits are.

Housebreaking: Every dog living in a family has to learn clean habits as soon as they come into the house. We can help you achieve that.

Chewing and Jumping: Behaviors that a young dog has to learn are wrong as soon as they come home, or soon after.

Obedience: Young puppies have to learn proper behaviors, and the best time to achieve that is as soon as possible. Training is being done most of the time motivationally, with food, toys, and lots of praise.

6 months to a year

An older puppy that did not have the earlier training and is being started at 6 months of age will still use motivational training for the learning process, depending on the dogs maturity level. Some dogs can go to off leash training.

1 year and up

Most dogs after 1 year are mature enough to handle the more advanced type of training, which entails off leash training.

We can help you achieve success with your dog with humane and compassionate training methods. We train the dog to a level that suits your family needs. For those clients that want to do other types of training (competition show handling, Schutzhund, agility, etc), we are able to help you out also.

* We can also help you get puppies or adult working bloodline dogs from European bloodlines for Schutzhund police work or personal protection.

Joe's K-9 Training Center is not a regular boarding kennel. It is privately owned and operated by the entire family. We provide top professional service in the comfort of our home. We are committed to personal attention and individual interaction and care for your dog (or cat). Over the years of sharing our lives with our dogs and cats, we designed and created the dream vacation spot for canines. Green pastures, fresh air, sunshine, shade and days filled with tail wagging fun. That's doggy paradise for all dogs, big and small. Now, we also offer pet sitting for your cats.

All guests staying with us feel at home. They enjoy a stress free, loving atmosphere. They share our home and enjoy exercise in our completely fenced acre plus yard. Dogs and cats are treated like royalty here. Private, separate rooms are available for the grouchy pooch; not to worry, we know how to take care of them. We are experienced with all kinds of temperaments. For an extra charge we will take your dogs and play with them on our full size field.

We also offer day care. Let your dog have fun while you are at work all day. He will enjoy playing with us and his doggy friends. While puppies and young dogs need it most, all ages are welcome. Everyone gets breakfast, treats and play sessions outside.

All levels of training and classes are available. Every dog is unique and responds best to a training program tailored to his individual needs. We believe in training through motivation.
